Memories

Times gone by, words said and left unsaid
Will remain locked in a nook of my head
Pictures get lost, friends fade away
But memories forever stay

The smiles we've shared,
The fights we've fought
The times we've dared
The awkward glances we've caught

The memories made
The memories yet to be made
The journeys taken
The solemn promises broken
The countless secrets kept
Heavy tears wept
The friendships knitted
And all the sins committed

One fine day, I'll remember all
Till then I'll keep my memories locked between four walls.

A Tribute To My Mother

Some days when I feel low,
The days when I have had a row,
My shining light saves me from sorrow,
Warmth, love and happiness from her I borrow.....

She has taught me how to go about life,
Ever present during sunny days or strife,
She has always treated me as royal,
Nurtured as a newly planted seed in soil....

I am the man I am because of her today,
My true guardian this ever-present light,
Warm and joyful during the day,
A portrait of calmness and peace at night...

My guardian, my guide...
Always by my side...

Bird With A Broken Wing

I am a bird with a broke wing,
Hurt and unable to sing.
I lie down in despair,
In desperate need of repair,
Hoping for somebody to come and care.
I am unable to grace the wind,
To this dirty earth i am pinned.
Now I can only dream,
To touch the sky,
To happily soar,
The thrill of the wind made me roar.
I wish I would have seen where I was going,
I wish I had a way of knowing,
If I didn't have crashed into a tree,
There wouldn't have been a happier bird than me.

Forests

With all it's beauty and all it's might,
It makes up for an astounding sight.
We need to stop exploiting it please,
So we can rest under the canopy of trees.

It is a place for shelter,
A provider of food,
Us humans to it, can be sometimes so rude.

It has it's own aura,
It is engulfed in peace,
Only to be disturbed by the buzzing of bees.

The chirping of birds,
The clattering of leaves,
In a corner, a spider weaves.
At night, the owl hoots,
The snake hisses,
While ants go on exploring the underground riches.
Life in a forest goes round and round,
It's scenic beauty holds everyone spellbound.

Passion....

I once gave up my passion,
I made a mistake,
I started following dreams which were fake.
I forgot what was important,
I did not realize,
What I was doing was full of lies.
My passion was stuck in a nook of my brain,
I wasn't able to find it and I was going insane.

Once I had found it, I didn't let it go,
I held onto it in my highs and lows.
My passion to me was what ice cream is to a child,
It was irresistible and it made me wild.
It made me confident,
I held my head high,
Without it, It felt like I had dropped out of the sky.
I follow my passion,
I go to wherever it leads,
My passion is enough to fulfill my needs.

Winter Days

In the morning cold,
I wake up for school in despair,
Shivering in the room and combing my hair.
I look out the window,
nothing I see,
nothing but the faint shadow of the banyan tree.
everything is engulfed in the morning mist,
I pull my sweater upto my fist.
The only warmth I get is from my heart that beats,
constantly, in a rhythm and keeps me adrift.
I walk down the stairs in utter pain,
wondering if the school had gone insane.
Troubling young kids on winter days,
"It's all for own benefit", my mother says.
I keep my head down,
I go to school,
Wondering If I just had been made a fool.
My friends and I, sit in the horrible state.
In pain, sorrow and despair.
Coming to school on winter mornings.
We all completely hate.

A Ray of Hope

In a country laden with poverty, violence and corruption,
people distraught, fighting to survive,
Festivals lighten the mood and help us revive.

When we open our newspapers in the morning,
Scams, murders and what all cover the pages.
People feel the country has no scope,
But we strong Indians live on hope.

We live in a country with a strong heritage,
To be a part of it, is a great privilege and
each festival brings love, prosperity and joy,
People unite to celebrate and enjoy.

Be it Christmas, Diwali or Eid,
The enthusiasm we Indians show is unmatched indeed.
Forever these festivals live,
Warmth to the poor and lonely they give.

They brighten up the world,
make it a happier place,
they help bring back a smile to the face.

2012 : The Beginning of the End

The Mayans predicted the last day of Earth,
It has been 4.5 billion years since its birth.
It has come time for famine to strike,
Prices of food to hike and deaths alike.
Global warming may have played its part,
We had a chance to stop it before it had start.
We had it coming for us,
Destruction will spread like a virus.
Earthquakes and volcanoes will change the shape of the crust,
Tsunami's will rise and all mankind would be swept from the face of the earth.

This is what they "predicted" so let's hope this is not the case,
We should take this as a warning and start from the base.
We should stop the wars for the sake of the future,
Rather than wasting resources,
We should start to nurture.

Expressions Of a Teenager

We learn from our elders,
We follow their path,
They teach us things more important than English, History or Math.
We mean no harm, but only good,
We try to be the best in the neighbourhood.
We develop new ideas and wonderful thoughts,
Because noone wants to live a life full of naughts.
We want to have fun and help each other out,
Work, fun and integrity is what we are all about.
We make new friends,we create new trends.
We wait for our turn,
We all came here to learn.
We want to stand out in the crowd,
As we want our parents to feel proud.
With the right guidance,
We will cover the distance,
And we will make a difference.

story of pandora

It was during the ancient times,
When two brothers committed a crime.
Their names were Epi and Prom,
They were both two ticking bombs.
Prom stole fire from a city in Greece.
The king of gods, Zeus, could'nt sit in peace.
He sent a girl named Pandora down to earth,
where she gave both love and evil birth.
She was sent on earth with a box,
On it was just one lock.
She opened it with a curious mind,
The lid of the box which kept evil bind,
Out came terrible buzzing flies,
She could'nt get rid of them in a thousand tries.
At last they disappeared,
Then came the fly of hope and wiped the tears.

British gypsy

British gypsy

I roam around the world on my feet,
Surviving the nature's cool and heat.
I go around without my British tea,
The forests are full of hopping flea.
There are so many people, I have met,
But the only loyal friend is my pet.
I go around in weather so bad,
But nothing makes me feel sad,
I am happy being a gypsy,
With no mode of transport,
And no place to live.
I have all to take but nothing to give.
Even under the deserts hot sun,
Nothing seems to take away the fun!!!!!

A funny poem on 'friends'

friends

You have friends who are fat,
If you would hit them with your bat,
They would wobble like a jelly,
They cant see their own belly.
They don't feel a thing when hit,
They are always fighting to remain fit.
They don't like playing outside,
But they will be able to withstand a tide.
They don't care what anyone says,
As long as they don't ask them to play

Freedom to express

You have the freedom to choose on how you wish to express,
Either by tears,
Or by making fear.
Doing hardwork to make your parents proud,
Or by being a part of the common crowd.
You can choose to express yourself elegantly,
Or by exploding on people unexpectedly.
You should have the freedom to express your feelings quietly,
Rather than being out of privacy.
You can be sober,
You can be kind,
Or you can just express yourself by beating his behind.

Aspire to inspire

Aspire to inspire

The goal is to keep the momentum flowing,
That is what you should be showing.
Keep the goal in mind,
And true motivation you shall find.
Go for excellence and not for success,
This is one of the most important steps.
Make sure you fix everything in time,
Or you will remember it in future as unexpected crime.
Inspiration is what makes us go on,
Days of ease are so gone.
There are times when we feel stuck in our game of life,
When we feel being pin-pointed by a knife.
But don't lose faith in yourselves
Follow these rules and refill your shelves.
With new dreams and goals to reach for,
And surely you will help others soar,
To reach new limits too,
As they are inspired to aspire by you.

My Mother

My mom has has brown hair,
She's the one standing there.
She is the prettiest of all,
She is the best, i may recall.
She is exquisite about everthing,
Oh, she's just a sweet thing!
Mom, Mom shining bright,
Her eye is the one which really shows might.
I love her alot,
She is my golden jackpot.
I tell my mom, when she isn't alright,
" Don't worry mom, we'll see what we can do to make it right" !
I just wanna tell you mom,
I will always love you alot! :)

The Tyger by William Blake

Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye.
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies,
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder,and what art,
Could twist the sinews of they heart?
And when they heart began to beat.
what dread hand? and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp.
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears
And watered heaven with their tears:
Did he smile His work to see?
Did he who made lamb make thee?

Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

The crucial two overs (Sonnet)

It was a cold clear thursday at the ground,
waiting for the match to start.
we won the toss and we chose to bat,
Our teams first shot-a six-did astound!
The openers got rather quickly out.
I got my batting atlast,
Then i got my runs rather fast.
As I was caught the caption did shout.

We finished our batting at Ninety Six,
We gave them a tough time to try their tricks.
In the last two overs,it was down to Fifty runs,
Our bowlers proved inept, giving wides like distributing buns.
We walked away the field really sad,
about the miss oppurtunities we had. :(

------Based on a real life story.

Treasure Hunt by Rohan Sehgal

Zeus and Medusa went in the forest,
Zeus said he was the bravest.
They had gone in for a treasure hunt,
all they found were trees with corners so blunt.

As they went deeper and deeper in woods,
they didn't find any Red Riding Hood,
but a tree house that was huge and black,
as they went in, they found tasty snacks.
They got themselves tanned beneath the burning sun,
atleast they found tasty snacks and the treasure hunt was so fun. :D

My Class Room Calamity

My Classroom Calamity

My friend snitched on me,
My mother got to know and was very angry,
The work i did was very grotesque,
I had put spiders on my teachers desk,
My teacher was overwhelmed by fear,
I could not stop laughing and out came a tear,
When i was home, my mother came up the stairs,
I absocnded from the room in utter despair,
She was inquisitive to know why i did it,
I entreated her to just forget it...
